The Gossip, "Music For Men"

With the third release "Standing in the Way of Control" in 2006 Gossip got their chance to enter the world- wide music and become firmly established as indie rock group. American trio spent nearly three years to create new worthwhile set with the title "Music for Men". Under the fanciful cover displaying the Gossip drummer’s face that could be accepted monoecious and generates a sense of even temper is gracefully hidden musical tumults, loud notes and powerful vocals. In spite of the impression that formed around the band’s frontwoman Beth Ditto, who’s stage pranks and eccentric behavior primarily gained attention of unconventional streams, the Gossip relates its music for the public at large. The uprising "Heavy Cross" inflames with its sharply loud tunes beating in step with the clear ringing voice of Beth Ditto, while symbolical "2012" strums a tune with the help of heavy synths  and noising drums. Kings of Convenience, "Declaration of Dependence"

Dainty tunes, easeful vocal lines and involved delicate guitar riffs created by Kings of Convenience are again gladdening fans’ hearing in its newest release "Declaration of Dependence". As before, all those attributes are embodied in folk and indie pop tunes whose vocal accompaniments and composing were executed by both members of the group - Eirik Bøe and Erlend Øye. Five years devoted to the recording were not in vain, the album has more calming sounding and less agile than ever. The glowing vivid patches are like exceptions on the set, "My Ship Isn't Pretty" and "Renegade" are the most buoyant songs. Norwegian duo has got a wonderful mix matching familiar tunes of bossa nova and lyrics similar to R&B that make the track "Mrs. Cold" the album’s highlight. Read more
